Hello mums, please help my 15yo daughter.
She has long (lower back length), really dark brown curly hair (curl type is 3B). Though in the past couple of years she has experienced extreme oiliness on the roots of her hair, usually only making it around 2 days without washing it thoroughly. She has tried countless products (inc stripping shampoos, dry shampoos, silk pillowcases, and massaging her scalp a few times a week) though none of them have made any vast improvements. She also conditions only her ends and uses a very small amount of the conditioner on her scalp (so she is able to brush her hair in the shower). - (just thought I'd also mention that she doesn't touch her hair a lot either, besides from the daily ponytail). Because of the colour of her hair (dark brown), the oil shines through a lot more as well.
Her hair also goes very frizzy, most people just blame their frizz on the humidity but this isn't the case. Again, she has tried a variety of products (inc GHD diffuser, curl definers, mousses, special towels, frizz-free designed shampoos and conditions etc.) The frizz also isn't due to heat damage as she has only had her diffuser for a few months and uses it about once a week (using a heat protector). Her naturally curly hair spends more time being frizzy then curly!
We have spent a lot of money on products and the frizz and oily problems are starting to become a real problem. Would any one have any advice for her?
Please recommend products that are actually useful for these problems or different strategies she could use.
