This winter take a moment to think about all the poor abandoned animals in shelters across the state and country. Often during Winter shelters are overrun with animals and are desperately seeking the donations of blankets, food and materials to help keep the animals warm.
The Moorook Animal Shelter has been saving the lives of unwanted dogs and cats since 1999. It is a non profit and non kill organisation run by the lovely, kind hearted Lola McLaghlan.
The shelter and all of its volunteers have made such a difference for many unwanted dogs and cats in the Riverland area.
Not only do they have a bunch of lovely pets for adoption, they offer a surrender service for those that unfortunately for whatever reason, can no longer have their beloved pet, or have not been able to re-home them by themselves.
"We do not discriminate, we provide a second chance for all ages, gender, breeds, colours and sizes, as every dog and cat deserves to find a loving home."
So when searching for a new fur-baby, please, please, consider saving a life. It's not only rewarding, the animals really do appreciate it more than you think.
If you aren't looking for a new friend please spread the word and let your friends, neighbours, relatives and workmates know that we exist.
The shelter is open Sunday to Friday.
Please call for an appointment on 0417868394.
Saturdays - Closed.
The Moorook Animal Shelter is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on your support. Please help us to continue saving lives by donating via the website here.
We may not be able to save every dog or cat, but you can help us try, as every one of them deserves a place to call home.
**So please please if you cannot adopt a new furry friend then please help these wonderful unfortunate animals and donate blankets, towels, quilts, food or money to help care for these little furrbabies during the cold of winter.
