The ‘Go-To Guide' for organising a special day for all the Mothers in your life.
‘The second Sunday in May’. The one sentence that really excites us at Adelaide Mums Group. Do you know why? Of course, you do. You’re all Mums, too. It’s our favourite day, Mother’s Day!
Mother’s Day is the one day of the year where we can all be celebrated for the time, energy, passion, commitment, and unwavering love that we put in to raising our children. It is a day that we give thanks to our Mothers, Aunties, and Grandmothers for raising us, with all of the aforementioned qualities, and for being a pillar of strength and support while we navigate our way through motherhood.
It is also a day where our husbands, partners, wives, children, and other relatives, ensure that our feet are up, hot drinks (or ice cool alcoholic beverages) are in our hands at all times, and we enjoy the 24 hours of luxury that we all deserve.
Explore the city at twilight and discover its hidden secrets!
Mother’s Day is on Sunday 13 May this year, and while that is still another 8 weeks away, we need to start getting organised, and by ‘we’, I mean, our ‘other halves'. So, print out this article, highlight your ‘suggestions’, and leave it somewhere obvious for your spouse to see, or email it to them, because we have some amazing local events and gift ideas that will be perfect for any mother.
Mother’s Day Classic, organised by Women in Super, is a running or walking event in North Adelaide. Money raised through registration and donations go towards breast cancer research. There are two distances that you can choose from, 4.5km or 7.4km, you can also choose whether to walk or run the event.
Enjoy a 2-course luncheon, dessert buffet, and 3-hour drinks with Paracombe Wines, hosted by Channel 7's Jade Robinson. It will be a three and a half hour event with special guest speakers, fashion parade by One Night Stand Boutique, and major and silent auctions.
A decadent feast is a must for Mother’s Day. Mayfair Hotel is hosting a Premium Breakfast, and Grand High Tea.
Premium Breakfast Enjoy coffee, tea, or non-alcoholic sparkling wine on arrival. The breakfast boasts a sumptuous buffet style menu of Berkshire honey spiced ham on the carving trolley, sweetcorn fritters, poached eggs, smoked salmon, and much more.

Breakfast times are at 7:30am, and 9:30am.
