When you think of taking the kids to get out of the house and see some animals, you automatically think of Adelaide Zoo. Well here are some other places you can take the kids to for a great day, a picnic and get out and about with the animals.

Gorge Wildlife Park - Cudlee Creek

Aussie animals such as Dingos, Tasma
American Alligatorsnian Devils, Wombats, Echidnas, the unusual Fruit Bats, Ghost Bats, Bilby and more.
Walk amongst and feed the Kangaroos and Wallabies including the white (albino) varieties.
Koala holding sessions daily at 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm
Variety of monkeys
Meerkats
Oriental small-clawed Otters
Over a 150 species of birds
Peacocks roaming the park

Monarto Zoo - Monarto

Monarto Zoo is one of the largest open-range zoos in the world spanning more than 1,500 hectares and home to more than 500 animals and 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles.

With a massive range of animal experiences, behind the scenes tours, keeper for a day, and interactive animal tours you can keep visiting Monarto over and over and never run out of options.

Do you need an updated family photo?
The Adelaide Crochet Club meets on a regular basis to learn crochet, meet other local mums, and to have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along.

Disabled Access the zoo provides ramps and railings for disability access

Open:
Daily from 9:30am 5pm with last entry at 3pm
If the forecast temperature for Monarto is 40 degrees or above or SA County Fire Service declare a Catastrophic Fire Ban in which case the zoo will be closed
Recommend a minimum of four to five hours to fully enjoy the Monarto Zoo experience
Experience the zoo on the free Zu-Loop Shuttle, pre-booked Safari Tours for groups and by foot via the walking track network
