Australia Day Events in Adelaide

Australia Day is the biggest public holiday of the year here in Australia, so how will you be spending the day?

Don't worry too much if you've got no plans as of yet because there are heaps of events going on in and around Adelaide for you to choose from! Here's a rundown of some of the best:

1. Australia Day in the City 2017

Explore the city at twilight and discover its hidden secrets!
Australia Day in the City is the major public event to celebrate Australia Day in South Australia in Elder Park on 26th January 2017.

The parade commences at 6pm from Franklin St, will march North along King William Street and join in on the festivities at Elder Park.

A huge Australia Day Concert will begin just after 7:00pm and a spectacular fireworks display will follow. For more information, see here.

2. Australia Day Bush Fair

Running every second Saturday, join Foodi on their interactive Chocolate Walking Tour, where you will discover some of these chocolatiers and gain insight into their craft.

Celebrate Australia Day at the City of Onkaparinga’s Australia Day Bush Fair from 5.30 - 9.30pm at South Adelaide Football Club oval.

There will be live music, wood chopping, pony rides, rock climbing, face painting, mini train rides, stalls and more! For more information, see here.

3. Australia Day at IKEA

IKEA are hosting fun activities for the whole family! Meet Larry the lamington; create your own lamington; take part in the treasure hunt; and kids can eat free. For more information, see here.

4. Semaphore Summer Carnival

This festival is the perfect setting to enjoy the celebrations of Australia Day. There are carnival rides, stunning sideshows, and all the fun of the circus in town. For more information, see here.

5. Civic Park Ausday

If you'ar in the North-East, your kids will love this free event provided by the City of Tee Tree Gully. It features a huge 100 metre two lane water slide (free entry and slides), a sausage-sizzle and other treats. For more information, see here.

6. Free Fireworks.
