Are you interested in taking part in a movement study with your child?

Pearson Clinical are seeking participants aged 3-25 years for a study about movement ability and handwriting speed. Results from this study will be used to develop new tests aimed at supporting people with movement activities.

Due to the study coming to a close, there are now only spots available for participants whose parents have year 12 or below as their highest completed education. If you meet this requirement, please read on.

What is this study about?

This study will collect data for two new tests: the Movement Assessment Battery for Children – Third Edition (Movement ABC-3) and the Detailed Assessment for Speed of Handwriting – Second Edition (DASH-2). The Movement ABC-3 is a movement ability test. The DASH-2 is a handwriting speed test.

By testing different people with the Movement ABC-3 and DASH-2, researchers can understand how people typically perform. The results from this study will help develop the new tests. When published the tests will help health care workers identify children and young people who need support with movement activities.

If you are selected to take part, you will be linked up with a trained clinician in your area, such as an occupational therapist or physiotherapist, who will conduct the study session with you.

What’s involved in the study?

Participation takes 20-60 minutes and involves tasks such as throwing and catching bean bags, jumping, balancing, writing, and drawing. It will also involve completing two short checklists. As a thank you, each participant receives a $75 Flexible eGift Card!
