The circus isn’t just about big tops and clowns – it’s a fun and creative yet challenging activity that is great for adults and kids of all ages. Cirkidz is a circus school based in Bowden that offers weekly classes for children aged between 2.5 and 17 years, as well as adult classes, and they’d love you to try it for free!

Cirkidz is offering all Adelaide Mums Group readers an opportunity to try a free adults or kids class. You’ll get the chance to see what a circus class involves, how it’s beneficial for children and adults alike and how much fun it is! They are also offering readers $50 off birthday party packages when you mention this article.

Cirkidz is a not for profit organisation that has been operating for 32 years. They originally started out as a respite for at risk kids and have since grown to offer even more to the community, using circus as the vehicle to break down barriers and connect people of all ages.

They are all about confidence building, community and coordination. Cirkidz will stretch your mind and strengthen your body and help you discover your own superpower you never knew you had!

Just some of the life skills children can gain from the classes include self-regulation and self-awareness, developing boundaries, goal setting and developing resilience.

Unlike other venues, which may be unstructured in nature, Cirkidz run structured classes and children have the opportunity to progress and perform if they wish. All classes are non-competitive and focus on enriching creative expression and controlled risk taking in a safe environment.

Furthermore, studies from UniSA have even found evidence that kids who undertake circus classes have increased motivation and engagement at school! The SA Circus Centre has recently joined the global commitment to research into why circus has a strong, positive impact on individuals and communities. The centre and UniSA’s School of Health Sciences will continue to research the positive effects of contemporary circus participation. For every $1 invested in circus activity, $7 is saved through improvements to children’s health and wellbeing due to participation in their circus programs.

Along with the weekly classes for kids, Cirkidz run classes for adults, school holiday programs, outreach programs, workshops and birthday parties. Each of their trainers is fully qualified and teach real, take home skills that the kids will love.

Cirkidz also accept the $50 Primary School Sports Vouchers, which you can use for one sports club registration per primary-school aged children each year – why not use it for a Cirkidz registration! The voucher is not valid during school holiday programs.
