Coffee craver’s and doughnut devotee’s gather ‘round. I have found the perfect café for your next ‘catch up’ date, and it has been under our nose this entire time.

Elementary Coffee is THE go to café for the finest brewed coffee, by the most skilled baristas in Adelaide. They are all about coffee! They source their beans from quality farmers all around the world. Quality farmers who are ethical and sustainable in their growing and production of coffee beans.

Their coffee-making process is an actual science. They understand ‘the bean’ (coffee beans, of course)- where the bean grew, what climate and soil it grew in, and adapt their roasting and brewing process to enhance the flavours of each type of bean. See what I mean? Science!

If you love what they do to their beans, why not purchase some, so you can have their fabulous coffee in the comfort of your own home. To check out their beans, click here.

I have a confession to make, though. I did not go to Elementary Coffee for, well, the coffee. *Queue the gasps of shock and horror*- I don’t like coffee. I have tried, for many years, to like coffee, because It smells delicious. I thought when I became a Mum, coffee would be my best friend, sadly, it’s not. I am, and always will be, a tea drinker. I went to Elementary Coffee for the sweet, battery goodness that is the doughnut.

Doughnuts are making a comeback, big time. Every major city needs a café that makes artisanal, quirky doughnuts, and Elementary Coffee is Adelaide’s. They have a monthly-rotational doughnut menu, that boasts flavours such as Raspberry Splice, Maple & Bacon, and the ever popular Gin Tonic (always on the menu).

If that wasn’t enough, Elementary Coffee also have a delicious breakfast and lunch menu. Their meals boast wholesome, healthy, delicious meals, with vegetarian and vegan options. Their produce is sourced locally, as they believe whole-heartedly in South Australian produce. Some items you might see on their menu (seasonal) are Buckwheat pancakes with spiced poached pear, mascarpone and blueberries, Ocean trout salad with charred corn fritters, and a range of smashed avocado on toast with toppings, and burgers.
