Museums are a fantastic place to visit. They proudly display artifacts from our region, giving us insight into our communities' history, culture, and way of living from hundreds of years ago. We are also lucky to have artifacts from around the world, which allow us the opportunity to gain more knowledge, empathy, and understanding about the world we live in.
Adelaide has an amazing range of Museums for the whole family to visit. Here are a list of five museums that would intrigue any child, or adult.

South Australian Museum
South Australian Museum has a variety of amazing exhibitions to attend. There are also some exciting, interactive shows and classes, such as the
Young Explorers program, designed for children from 3- 5 years of age.
While you're there, don't forget to check out their
Discovery Centre. It's a great, hands-on experience for the whole family.

National Railway Museum
This museum is perfect for the locomotive enthusiasts.
National Railway Museum is filled with interactive areas, which are perfect for the hands-on children. There is also a large Model Railway display, a
free ride around the museum on a small train (price is included in the entry fee), and you can ride the
Semaphore Train along the Semaphore coastline to Port Malcolm (one-way, or return).

Discover the intriguing, and spooky 150 year history of the
Adelaide Gaol. Try your hand at unpicking the locks within the prison, and try on the handcuffs, and leg irons that the prisoners wore during the prisons' operations from 1841-1988.
Take
Self-guided Tours, or organise a
Guided Tour. Some people have also experienced
ghostly sightings. You never know, you may also sense the spirits of gaol's past.

The Bradman Collection
For the Cricket loving family,
The Bradman Collection is the place to visit. The collection is on loan from
State Library of South Australia, and being displayed in a custom built museum in the Adelaide Oval.
Take a look at
Sir Donald Bradman's personal collection of clothes, trophies, balls, and bats from 1927- 1977. Enjoy watching footage of Bradman, and taking part in the interactive museum.

Tram Museum, St Kilda
For more locomotive fun, head on over to
Tram Museum, and enjoy
unlimited rides on trams from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Ballarat.
While you're there, take the tram down to
St Kilda Adventure Playground, the children will love climbing, sliding, and running around the award-winning playground.
