Free and Low Cost Things to Do with Kids in Summer

With all the expenses from Christmas, and by now you probably have all the bills coming in, it's hard to keep the kids occupied for the rest of the holidays without it costing a fortune.

Try some of these activities below that are FREE or very cheap.

Heysen Trail Walk to the Fairy Garden, Bridgewater
This is perfect for the younger kids, start at the playground for a bit of fun and then hike to the fairy garden at Deanery Reserve. There are tunnels to explore, ducks to feed and then take a packed lunch for a picnic once you reach the fairy garden at Deanery Reserve.

Cobbler Creek Mountain Bike Park
Have fun on your bikes in the open woodlands of Cobbler Creek. There's a whopping 17km of purpose-built trails that are perfect for beginner and intermediate riders, with a couple of sections that will give even the most experienced of riders a thrill.

There are various park benches scattered around the park

The park may be closed on days of declared Total Fire Ban for the Adelaide Metropolitan fire district

Moonlight Markets in Thorndon Park
These fun night markets feature over 120 craft and fashion stalls and showcases the Flavours of Campbelltown Food Trail. There's music, entertainment free craft activities and a large playground for the children.

Adelaide have several foreshore playgrounds that have great slides, natural play space, water play, mini trampolines, climbing ropes/walls, water slides, merry go rounds and kiosks.
