There is something to be said about visiting a Library. While technology has taken over the world, the humble library may seem like it will soon be a thing of the past. Think again! Sure, libraries are a place to borrow books, but she has a lot more to offer us than paperbacks. Greenacres Library runs a whole list of events for all ages. They provide workshops on mastering the ever-complicated computer; host book clubs; Story time for pre-schoolers; and our favourite, Baby Bounce.
Every Wednesday at 10:30 or 11:30, the library hosts a half hour song and story session. Children between 0-2 years are invited to get together to play with musical instruments and colourful scarves while singing nursery rhymes. After they have sang and danced their little hearts out the children listen to a story and have the opportunity to look through books themselves before bubble play to finish the group.
The face does not say it all. Evelyn loves Baby Bounce
6 tips to create a positive mums group experience.
I love that it is only 30 minutes long, as my two toddlers could not focus any longer. Who am I kidding? They still canít focus that long, but if there is music playing, my daughter Evelyn will be right up front shaking her thang!
There are a number of mums, dads, grandparents and bubs that attend Baby Bounce. Itís a great way for children to start socialising. My children are not at Day Care just yet, so this is a perfect place for them to start interacting with their peers. Itís also a great environment for parents to socialise.
It promotes language and literacy at a young age, and as a qualified Early Childhood Teacher, of course I support that!
Oh, and itís free! Need I say more?
If you live in the Port Adelaide Enfield area days and times are listed below. For all other areas in Adelaide, check your local libraryís website to find out when your baby group is held. Please note that other libraries may not use the name Baby Bounce.
