Building a strong, supportive community through exercise.

Since becoming a mum, I have found it hard to make time for myself. I’m sure if I ask mums what they would love to include in their daily or weekly routine, it would be to have the time to exercise. While gyms, personal trainers, and boot camps (or as I like to call them, ‘The Big Three’) are fantastic ways to exercise, it is just not always affordable, or practical for working, or stay at home mums.

That’s where MEGA outshine The Big Three. Mums Exercise Group Australia is based…well all over Australia, including Adelaide! It all began in Canberra, by Jenelle McAppion, a mother of triplets, who created a walking group in 2014. After expanding the group to include other forms of exercise, MEGA not only became a fitness phenomenon for mums in Canberra, but also for thirteen other regions, across seven states and territories in Australia.

MEGA Adelaide is run by wonderful volunteer mums, who organise and implement exercise programs all over Adelaide. Exercises range from pilates, circuit training, dance classes, and walking groups.

There are so many benefits from joining MEGA Adelaide:
• Most of the classes are FREE (some do ask that you pay a fee of $2- $10).
• Children are welcome. You will have peace of mind knowing that your child is safely playing while you can focus on sweating it up.
• Mums, Grandmothers, and Mums-to-be are all welcome. All fitness levels are catered for in each class. MEGA pride themselves on being a supportive community- they want all Mums to succeed.
