When I hear museum, I think dusty old relics and boring school trips. When I took my son and daughter for a visit to fill in time before meeting a friend, I was actually surprised at what was there.
It's free entry, warm inside, and there's a lot to entertain the kids. Being the school holidays they had a photo-booth where you could dress up and capture the memory of the day. We looked like explorers with hats and binoculars.
My son loved looking at the different animals, even waiting to watch the lion swish its tail. The giant squid that took up 3 floors was a sight to see how big it really is.
We had lots of room to maneuver the prams which meant both kids could enjoy the day.
We grabbed a coffee and piece of cake in the cafe and watched the buses and trams go past. The grassed area outside was lovely to have a packed lunch and enjoy the nice weather.
Opening Hours: Museum is Open Daily 10am-5pm
