Calling all parents of young children! This is a research opportunity just for you.

Are you a parent of an infant or toddler aged between 16 days and 3.5 years? Pearson Clinical Australia invites eligible parents to take part in a study, and you will receive a Woolworths Gift Card and a book pack for your child for your time!

Pearson Clinical Australia is conducting research on a gold standard test of infant and toddler development, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, Fourth Edition (Bayley-4), a play-based test of infant and toddler development.

Bayley-4 is used by health care workers to identify if a child is having difficulties in certain areas of development. Results of the Bayley-4 test will aide health care workers in identifying these issues and deciding on the best care and support, and your child could be involved.

To take part, children must be aged 16 days to 3.5 years. Parents must have not completed university education.



What’s involved in the study?

Infants and toddler will take part in a 30-90 minute play-based assessment with an experienced assessor.

Whilst this is happening, parents will completes two brief online questionnaires.

For their participation, families will receive a $30 Woolworths gift card and a pack of three children's books worth $20.

The aim of the project is to create a version of the Bayley-4 that will give accurate results for Australian children. Using the results of this project, the research team will create the final version of the Bayley-4 that will be used by health care workers to support the development of children across Australia.



This project has been reviewed by and has received ethical approval from the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. Pearson Clinical Australia have partnered with several independent researchers across Adelaide to conduct the research.
