Climb Australia's largest rocking horse, feed the animals and visit an amazing toy factory.

The Toy Factory has been in operation since 1973, which goes to show just how popular it is as a tourist attraction, and a great place for us Adelaideans to visit on any day of the week.

There is so much you can do at The Toy Factory, so set a whole day aside with your family and enjoy a cheap day out.

David McIntosh designed the 25 tonne rocking horse, which stands at 18 metres high, making it the biggest rocking horse in Australia, and one of the 'big' icons to visit when travelling (like the Big Banana, and The Big Prawn). For just $2 you can climb the rocking horse, and receive a certificate upon completion. For more information, click here

Wooden Toy Factory offers guided tours during week for $5 per child. Tours are designed for schools and Early Learning Centres. They have been making toys for 40 years, and only use renewable resources for their wooden toys. All toys are made in their factory, and are for sale in shop.

The Toy Factory also has an array of wildlife and farm animals roaming their grounds. They are very friendly and love to be hand fed. You can purchase a bag of food for $2, but be careful, some of the animals are very cheeky and may just steal the bag from you. For more information on the animals that cohabit at The Toy Factor, click here.

As you'll be spending the whole day at The Toy Factory, make sure to bring a picnic lunch with you. There are plenty of picnic tables, and space to spread out and enjoy a family lunch. Or alternatively, head on over to the cafe and order a delicious meal. There are breakfast, lunch, and kids menus.

The Adelaide Crochet Club meets on a regular basis to learn crochet, meet other local mums, and to have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along.
