I know we have only just gone back to school, but we can all dream about our next holiday or trip away.

I would like to share some of my favourite websites and apps to consider when booking your accommodation for your next holiday, weekend away or quick overnight trip.

I never call the first hotel I see in the Yellow Pages, a Google search, or Book Direct. I like to save money!

Trivago will list hotels/accommodation in the area or region you search and display the best price, along with the next top three prices for that particular room and the booking site which is offering that price.

More often than not, the top booking sites which offer up to around 78% discount are:

If you frequently travel away, register with these sites and you will be able to save your information to quickly login, and to book great prices instead of always having to re-enter all of your information each time you book something. Go one step further and install the app on your phone to book easily on the go.

On top of that, your booking details are stored in your online account, and emailed to you for confirmation. Allso check in/out reminders are sent to you via email or automatically added into your google calendar.

Another site/app I love to use is [Link https://www.groupon.com.au/ Groupon] which doesn't just offer great accommodation deals, but they also offer all sorts of deals/vouchers for tours, shopping, restaurants, health and fitness and so on.

The only difference with this site is that you pre-purchase the particular deal and then have a time limit in which you can book to use it. Say you book a two night hotel down at Cape Jervis, the terms and conditions may state available for use until December 2016 however not valid school holidays.

Remember to always read the fine print to avoid mishaps such as purchasing a deal at a special price, but booking on a weekend that the voucher is exempt.


So there you have it! Never ever pay full price for accommodation again. I have scooped up a lot of great deals from these websites over the years and find the convenience of free cancellation or book now pay later really handy when you are sometimes in two minds about going away or not.
