Every year around 48,000 babies are born premature or sick. On Sunday, 29 October, people across Australia will take part in the eighth annual Walk For Prems 2017 to raise money to support premature and sick babies and their families.
Walk For Prems 2017 is the largest annual fundraiser by Life’s Little Treasures Foundation, Australia’s foremost charity dedicated to supporting the families of babies born sick or before 37 weeks gestation.
You can help support these families by walking or running to raise funds, with the money going towards providing vital services to families of premature and sick babies. This year, the Adelaide walk will start from Karrawirra North Bank on War Memorial Drive.
The Adelaide Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Adelaide mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
Walk For Prems 2017 is proudly supported by Baby Bunting and over the past three years has raised over half a million dollars. This year, Life’s Little Treasures Foundation hopes to raise $250,000.
Walks will take place simultaneously across Australia’s capitals and regional cities. At the beginning of each Walk For Prems 2017 event in the major cities, participants will pause to show their respect for the families whose babies have sadly passed away. Life’s Little Treasures Foundation honours their babies’ memory with the ceremonial release of white doves by one of these families.
Life’s Little Treasures Foundation understands that it is not possible for everyone to attend Walk For Prems 2017. People who do not live close to a city of regional centre, or have babies in hospital can still take part in an event by registering as a virtualWalk For Prems 2017 team member.
This is your opportunity to make a difference to the lives of premature and sick babies and their families. For more information about the Adelaide walk, click here.
